About Us

Gerard Wood MC founded Aurelius after a storied soldiering career. 

Gerard has experienced personal transformation more than once in his life journey. He's swapped the ex-pat lifestyle for Royal Marine training, stepped up to become an elite operator, and transitioned from the military to the business world. 

Now, Gerard serves others by supporting them through their own opportunities for change, plus the challenges it brings. 

Gerard also works as Corporate Lead at veteran-led mindset training program The Natural Edge (TNE) while studying as an equine therapist with charity HorseBack UK.

In 2012 Gerard received the Military Cross medal, granted in recognition ‘for acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations.’ He grew up in southern England and studied photography before working with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office in tropical Africa. 

A chance opportunity to assist Royal Navy deployments in the region led to Gerard’s first encounter with the Royal Marines, and laid the foundation for a decorated 16-year military vocation. 

The pinnacle of modern military combat efficacy is found within the world’s special forces. Gerard chose to test himself against a notoriously rigorous testing procedure and successfully passed the selection process, achieving a coveted place within a British specialist military unit. 

Operating on behalf of the UK Government in the highest level of the British military, Gerard became a highly skilled practitioner. Eventually he was called upon to become a mentor, a leader, and a teacher across his thriving professional, and personal lives.

Gerard chose a new path to achieving purpose upon leaving the military in 2021. The business world provided new chances for personal growth and adjustment. 

Gerard makes time available for ‘giving back’ through charitable work with HorseBack UK, and spends time for himself, experiencing the world through travel and cuisine, and sharing precious moments with family and friends.
